  1. Thanks for the reply Eamonn, looking forward to a great day out.

    Regards Tom.

  2. Hi guys,

I have confirmation on the routes and we are about to put them up on the website. The 20km route will remain as was last year. The 50km route will remain as last year and the only change to the 100km route comes after Dunlavin. Instead of going right and heading straight for Ballymore Eustace we are heading left on R412 and going into Brannockstown village where we will turn right and then head into Ballymore Eustace and then back to Naas as last year. This will be up on website very shortly.

We have had guys out cycling these routes and they report back that the roads are fine for cycling on. We have driven the 20 km route and are doing the 50 and 100 next week.

    Regards

    Eamonn

    Ride Coordinator

  3. I took part in the event last year and enjoyed it immensely, however I am wondering what condition the roads are in around the Blessington area since the cold snap, some of the surfaces were poor enough last year, anyone know when the revised 100km route will be posted up.

  4. Just thought you'd like to know I've plugged the ride on my blog.

    See http://muse-ette.blogspot.com/2010/03/kare-tour-de-foothills.html

    Looking forward to the 11th.

  7. Hi Folks,

Just wanted to contact you to say that you all did a fantastic job in organizing and running the cycle on Sunday. Although I found some of the hills in the 50km run a bit challenging, it was a terrific day, and I look forward to doing it again next year, and to being a little better prepared!

Thanks again for all the help and support, and well done.

    Helen.

  8. hi mark thanks so much for your comments it was our first year to do this and its great we are getting so much feedback we are loving the good comments but also like to here the not so good ones as these will only make next years cycle better. We will take on board everything you and everyone else have said and put these into place next year thank you and we wll hopefully see you and all again next year

  9. Would like to thank everyone involved last Sunday , had a great cycle , v. well organised . A few points (constructive of course), signs on side of road either bigger or not there at all (spray paint markers on the road were more than adequate) . A lot more rubbish bags near the feed station required , when I was there anyway . I understand we have to take less populated roads but some of the surfaces were crap (dangerous in a bunch) , please take this in the spirit its intended , I know most of the roads in Ireland are rubbish but there are some good surfaces out there , maybe next year a 150k option and go onto Grangecon? up the entry fee?

Anyway it was a great day, the guys on the junctions and on the motorbikes did a great job , very well done all round, thanks a million.

  10. Just like to congratulate everyone for organising a great day. brilliant atmosphere. Good challenging route. (who said west wicklow and kildare were flat). I did the Sean Kelly and Wicklow 100 last year and this compares favourably with both. Nice touch the little laminated emergency number cards. One small point. Some of the signs could be a little bigger at various junctions. Thanks again. We'll bring a few more with us next year. Keep that weather organiser on board. Sunburn in April !!.

  11. I want to echo the other messages and congratulate all concerned on a very well organised and hugely enjoyable event. Every detail was taken care of, from on course mashalling to the emergency contact cards given to every rider, all of which made it a hassle free day. Of course the weather helped lift the spirits and made the tough course that bit more enjoyable to ride, but so did the smiles and helpfulness of all involved.

It was my first such event but it certainly won't be my last.

    Thanks and well done.

  12. Thanks guys for the kind comments, much appreciated. Don't forget if there is anything that we need to look at for next year please make your comments here or by my e-mail link. Thanks to all the people who turned out to support KARE it was you who made it such a successful and enjoyable day.

  14. Just completed the tour de foothills and would like to thank the organisers for a magnificent day! Best cycle I have been on in a long time. 24. Just back from being on some of the route and it is magnificent. The scenery around kilbride and lacken is spectacular. Good road surfaces most of the way. Nice windey and tree lined roads along the route too. You will all enjoy it. All we need now is the sunshine!!!

  25. Just for information for anyone interested in attending the launch of the cycle. It is happening in Naas Gaa Club at 8.30pm on Tuesday 10th March.
